Caring For Your Night Guard

Make sure you brush and floss your teeth before you insert your appliance to minimize risk of developing cavities.

Do not eat or drink anything except water while your night guard is in place.

Brush the appliance inside and out, ideally with a separate tooth brush or denture brush with dish soap or denture toothpaste.

Run appliance under warm (not boiling) water before inserting.

Never attempt to insert cold, as it may break. 

If digitally printed, do not warm up before inserting.

After removing appliance, brush and place to drip-dry.

Never leave appliance to soak.

Retainer tablets may be used weekly/monthly as needed, but soak only 3-5 minutes.

Animals love to chew appliances! Make sure to keep appliance and case away from pets.

Saliva may temporarily increase over the first few months.

Please bring your appliance to all future appointments.
